Kennie Taylor homered in the Brooklyn 1st. That's 5 XBH in 9 games as a Cyclone.

His scouting report had him that he can play 2nd/LF as well, surprised they havent seen him as 2b. Can he make enough contact and draw enough walks to get to his pop/speed/defense value as he advances levels in the minors. reminds me of champ stuarts profile but with much more polish and basbeall background coming from Duke.

36/9 K/bb for Taylor in AA in 30 Innings with a 2.4 era....get him to AAA please to see the new ball.... should be a rule 5/sept callup consideration.

Megill with his size frame and velo despite being unranked in 18 mlb draft is now catching my interest. Im sure Regan has helped him when he was there. Fastball-curve RP in college, wonder if he added a 3rd/4th pitch. Ticketed for AA for 2020 at 24.

For those hankering for Tejada and Herrera, why not Alcantara? Switch hitter, base stealer, has played every position except C/P.

Glad Guillorme is here though...adds to the homegrown vibe
-------------------------------------------------------
--Harol Gonzalez is having a nice little year...
--Blake Taylor needs to go to Syracuse to see if his transition to relief jedi has been completed...Blackham as well. He just continues to do more with less.
--Rene Rivera. Wow...
--Haggerty and Toffey have hit some roadblocks, though are still decently productive.
--Szapucki, Holderman, Humphreys throwing makes me happy.

I'm probably the biggest Alcantara fan on this board. Been calling for him to get called up for weeks. He plays 7 positions, switch-hits, has pop and speed. And as you already know, Jdawg, he used to be a pretty big prospect in the Cubs system. He's still just 27 and might be finally putting it together.

Just prepare yourself for the usual responses though, which are: 1. He's just a shiny new toy 2. He's a .189 career hitter in the majors 3. The ball is juiced at AAA 4. His career WAR is -.06....blah blah blah

My point was less about Alcantara and more about Dilson and Tejada who have their fans on here.

I am actually happy they are staying with Guillorme, who plays three infield positions well, and could probably play first in a pinch.

If cutting Altherr, Alcantara would be a better fit.

I think they are waiting out Lowrie and Nimmo at the moment.
