Can't find any velo reports on the google machine.

But I did find a few interesting pieces on him:

As well as...

Seems like a good, fun guy. I'll be rooting for him.

Also, according to his MSU player page, he didn't even start pitching until 2017. That includes his time in high school.

Very curious as to what he throws.

MSU plays Stanford this weekend. Hopefully one of us posters can get a look at him.

I did get a look at him as he got the final 3 outs of MS State's 6-2 win over Stanford tonight.

He is pretty much a fastball/curve guy. He sat 92-93, touching 94. He got two swinging strikeouts - one on the curve and one on a high fastball to end the game. In between he gave up a rocket double off the wall on a 3-2 fastball that was basically right down the middle and induced a ground ball to third.

The announcers talked about his high spin rate on both the FB and the curve. His missed his spot a few times and bounced the curve a bit, but he also executed some really well-located pitches.

For a 32nd round pick I definitely liked what I saw.

Put the finishing touches on an 8-1 win over Stanford to send the Bulldogs to Omaha.

1 perfect, 2 K, 10 pitches

Quote:
Cole Gordon's consecutive scoreless innings streak in the NCAA Tournament is up to 21.2 over the span of 11 appearances.

Nice yakker.

Hopefully some pro coaching, maybe improved strength and conditioning (though I'm guessing Miss State has a good program, so that's why it's only a "maybe") can squeeze another mph or two out of his big body.

I think he's pretty interesting as far as 32nd rounders go.

Any relatively successful SEC arm is interesting as far as 32nd rounders go.
