Whats slot for #7?
I know he's searching for above that, but just to give some frame of reference (if this isn't the place for this question, feel free to delete and I'll ask it somewhere else...figured it was relevant to the thread).
I know slots don't go beyond the 5th round, but maybe (if this info is readily available) we could get the "slot" numbers next to each of our picks, so if there is talk about what we're offering vs. what the kid is seeking, we can have some frame of reference beyond "Mets are being cheap again" (i.e., Mets are offering a good amount above slot but the kid is seeking something just absurd)??
The big financial winner was ninth-round pick Jacob deGrom out of Stetson. Converted from shortstop to pitcher for his junior season, deGrom said he signed Saturday with the New York Mets for $95,000.
"It's still kind of sinking in," said the 6-foot-4 right-hander from DeLeon Springs. "It feels like it's almost not even true. It feels weird, but it's cool. I'm sure it's going to sink in over the next few days."
The Mets are going to assign deGrom to Kingsport (Tenn.) in the rookie Appalachian League. If he does well there he could get promoted in August to the New York-Penn League's Brooklyn Cyclones.
It's been quite a whirlwind year for deGrom, who went from being Stetson's third-year starting shortstop and first-year closer to being the Hatters' No. 1 starter a month into the season.
"I'm glad it worked out this way, because if I would have stayed at short I probably wouldn't have been drafted," said deGrom, who was not drafted coming out of high school (Calvary Christian).

Green up Jonathan Kountis also, as confirmed later in the same article.
"NAIA Gold Glove catcher Austin Goolsby and his former Embry-Riddle teammate, right-hander Jonathan Kountis, will sign contracts today ... Kountis will be with the Mets' affiliate in Brooklyn."

Shouldn't Patrick Farrell be green?
On Wednesday, Farrell, 23, was chosen by the New York Mets with the 932nd pick of Major League Baseball's first-year player draft. That came after an All-American season at Regis University in Denver.
This was Farrell's breakout year.
Farrell will start his pro career with the Class A-Advanced St. Lucie Mets in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Class A-Advanced is the fourth step up the pro ladder and often is reserved for veteran minor leaguers and high draft picks.
