Mike Piazza. He’s my favorite.

I really liked Turk Wendell— tooth necklaces and a rubber arm...awesome. Also liked Cliff Floyd. He shared a story about going to Wrigley on Father’s Day as a child with his father and Cliff’s childhood friends. A special day, and it made him feel seven feet tall. I liked that story. I liked Lastings Milledge, he high fived fans and was an NYFS booster. I loved Rey Ordonez. John Olerud wore a helmet in the field and vowed to defend first base with his life, so of course I liked him. I loved Scott Kazmir and he was never even a Met.

The list goes on. RA Dickey — The Ultimate Wild Card. The Ace that Never Was. Please think back on the bewilderment that was RA Dickey. He named his bats mythological sword names, threw a fast knuckleball with precise control, and aww shucked his way to dominance. I loved RA Dickey.

Fernando Tatis came out of retirement to build a church, signed a minor league deal with the Mets, signed a bigger major league contract later, and hopefully, built a bigger church. Loved that.

Johan Santana. Loved him. Mike Baxter— him too.

Truth is, I kinda love them all. Even the ones I don’t or didn’t at the time, I really actually do and really actually did— even you, Luis Castillo.

I guess they’re all my favorite.

I like the Mets. If you wear the uniform you're probably ok with me.

Not Luis Castillo. Yes to everything else.

Olerud had a brain aneurism in college, he missed a year or part of a year and that's why he wore a helmet in the field. He was also a hek of a pitcher in college. Amazing player. He didn't play any minor league games before making his debut in the majors.

I'd take Olerud over Keith personally. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my preference.

Whoever's playing.

Unless it's Gary Sheffield.

Loved RA. Yeah, I'd probably have to add him somewhere if I re-opened my roster.

When boredom sets in, your mind either shuts down or wanders looking for stimulation. I'm not sure if this is the result of an idle mind or an active one but here goes. Inspired by this thread, I, along with some friends, decided to make a list of Mets, by number, who were significant to Mets history. We didn't include present Mets, some of which will be significant in the future. We didn't necessarily select the best players either. Here's the list. See how you rate them..
