Several surprising names on this list for me.

Rico...
...
Suave

and Ike Davis.

Are you surprised for good reasons or bad? Under your parameters, its only a sample size of 22 and a bunch of those are more utility guys than 1B (Flores, Tatis, Franco).

Being 10th on this list is not exactly an accomplishment of any noteworthiness. He's actually tied with Eddy Murray, and Tatis, Mo Vaughn and Dave Kingman are all right there.

I guess the bigger point is that if you would've told me to guess Ike Davis' career OPS as a Met, .750ish would've felt right.

I think my biggest surprise on this list is Carlos Delgado felt a lot more 'special' in the moment than the numbers bear out, which aren't very good at all.

Delgado opened 2007 in a major slump. He looked done, but turned things around and had an .860 OPS over his final 98 games.

Outside of that period, he was pretty good in his time with the Mets.

Looking at OPS, not OPS+

Olerud: 926
Alonso: 941
Keith: 816
Magadan: 777
Duda: .800
Brogna: .837
Delgado: .857
Clendenon: 797
Milner: .754
Davis: .767

So, Alonso, first, Olerud, 2nd, Delgado 3rd based on pure offensive numbers, which is about what we'd expect. It's adjusted for average hitting across the league that makes the list look strange.

Keith and Magadan hit during a pitchers era.

Well I mean he was as good relative to league average as Rico Brogna was. He “felt” a lot better than that here, imo.

I thought Ike was worse, and I did not expect Brogna to be there, either. Granted I became a fan in 1996 towards the very tail end of Brogna's tenure here, so I didn't see him a lot/remember him at all.

and struck out once a game and people are talking like he's the second coming. Get real people. When you have a chance to get the best reliever in the game who's only 24 and give up Kelenic in the deal, you MAKE that deal. Stop with the nonsense.

wRC+ accounts for era, league average offense, etc... it's so much better than OPS. So much incredibly better that I cannot emphasize how much better it is.
