Big, bad contracts are going to happen. What I want is a guy who isn't going to then use that bad contract as a reason not to award another big one until it expires and is off the books.

I agree with this WITH THE HOPES THEY LEARN from that mistake!

Also.......if Brody does horrible again please fire him immediately. There's no way he wasn't the worst overall GM in baseball last season.

Sorry, can't get excited until I see the full details. We've been though a Wilpon's selling bamboozle before in 2011 with David Einhorn, only to have the Wilpons pull the rug out on us. Also, what the is up with 5 years?

Still not buying tickets until they're gone gone.

Agree - not spending anything until they’re gone. Hoping Cohen treats Jeff they way Jeff treats the fans. Keep Jeff on board with a closet for an office attached to an outhouse.

I think we want a guy with the common sense of not trading a young, talented, inexpensive Kelenic for a old, expensive Cano and then claim too much money is tied up.

People worrying about the Wilpons not spending in the short term. I think Fred wants a WS title before he is "out." Just a gut feeling brought on by the record opening payroll this year, the "going for it" with Stroman last year, not scoffing at luxury tax questions, hiring an agent as a GM. We'll see, I guess.

Fred and Jeff didn’t want to spend their OWN money. I don’t think they’d mind spending someone else’s.

Reports are that once approved Cohen will own over 50% immediately and then obviously he will call the shots despite allowing the Pons to keep their titles for a few years. YES!!!!!!!

Jeff, we're gonna need to go ahead and move you downstairs into storage B. We have some new people coming in, and we need all the space we can get. So if you could go ahead and pack up your stuff and move it down there, that would be terrific, OK?

True. But while that could have been squashed at the ownership level, I blame that trade on the GM.

Sorry for your loss.

Could also be a sign that he knew he'd be selling in the near future so why continue with the act?
