Lowrie next week?

Good. Let Nimmo play Tuesday/Wednesday, then bring him back with the team Thursday and activate him on Friday. With the lefty pitching Thursday, no need to rush him back.

Lowrie probably needs close to a month to be fully ready, since he never got a spring training. I'm assuming some of our minor league teams made the postseason, right? Hopefully he can stick with a team for another 2 weeks and then come on up.

Rehab assignments are limited to 20 days. He is on day 8 today. So he only has until September 9 at the latest.

Syracuse's season ends on the 2nd and they are currently in a tie for their division (they won't get the wild card) so thats the best hope.

This is a huge series. The Mets are 2 games back of the Cubs. A sweep would be huge, but even winning 2-of-3 would be significant. I think the Mets have the pitching advantage in all three games, but the Cubs are a good team.

Something I didn't even look into, but Fangraphs did:

Cubs record on the road: 25-39 (.391 WPCT)
Mets record at home: 37-24 (.607 WPCT)

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-cubs-ro ... off-perch/

This is the perfect opportunity for the Mets (and the Citi Field fans) to make a big push for the post season.

Not done yet

Record right now 69-66

Beat Phillies Sunday
2 of 3 vs Nats
2 of 3 vs Phillies
3 of 4 vs AZ
1 of 3 vs dodgers
2 of 3 vs Rockies
2 of 3 vs Cinci
3 of 4 vs Miami
2 of 3 vs Atlanta

That would get us to 87 - 75 which might be enough to win a wild card

Just win today. Let tomorrow stay where it is!

The 6 game losing streak hurt but they're still in it and the 2 wins against the Phils helped. Cubs & Nats playing well hurts, I think they'll need maybe 88-89 wins.

Dodgers could go to sleep against us if they think we're an easier playoff team than the Nats or Cubs. Stranger things have happened.

The Phillies just lost a game to a team that started a relief pitcher in CF (and he played all 11 innings). That's two straight losses to the Reds for them.

They come to Citi Field tomorrow night, where hopefully Gabe Kapler is better at managing to lose than Mickey Callaway.

The Mets should sweep them and end their season.

Wow, no good vibes for the Twins as Michael Pineda is suspended for 60 games.
